I’ve got a new tattoo yesterday, and if you follow me on Instagram you must have noticed that I was pretty excited, and very happy with the results. My friend Wesley Gemistaris designed and inked my tattoo. I know him for a very long time but never got the chance to get a tattoo done by him. I already e-mailed last year for a appointment but changed my mind very soon and e-mailed again with a new idea. I stopped by the shop in Schiedam (The Netherlands) for a quick talk (ended up staying there for a little longer eating oreo cake lol) and made a appointment for a few weeks later (which was yesterday). I haven’t got a tattoo in a while, my last time was 2 years ago, and I kinda forgot about the feeling so I had no idea what to expect again. This is my 7th tattoo and I only got one tattoo with no meaning which is the native woman with the tiger on my shoulder. All my other tattoos have a meaning. I will make a different post with all the meanings of my tattoos soon, but I will start with my newest love. It took about 2,5/3 hours for this tattoo (not quite sure cause I didn’t pay attention when we started). The pain was normal, I mean, I forgot about how it felt but it was more annoying than painful. I think the wolf on my other arm was the most painful, but not the ”cry” pain. More like a ouch stop it pain. I’m always very careful with picture’s of my tattoos cause people have been stealing my tattoo designs for a couple of times now (very disrespectful and annoying) but whoever gets the same tatted as me, remember that the value of this tattoo will never be the same for you, as it is for me. (and I think you are lame for stealing it lol) So lets explain the meaning of my tattoo.
The moon (bottom part):
The sun watches what I do, but the moon knows all my secrets at night.
The Bird (middle part):
Represents me. I’m rooted but I flow. I fly across the world and make adventures, but always fly back to where I came from and share them with my loved ones.
Flower of life (Background middle part):
It’s a geometrical figure composed of multiple evenly-spaced, overlapping circles, that are arranged so that they form a flower-like pattern with a sixfold symmetry like a hexagon. The center of each circle is on the circumference of six surrounding circles of the same diameter. I told Wesley I wanted a piece of this on my arm, and he took that idea and put a part of it in the background.
Triangle Symbol (Middle part):
There are 4 elemental symbols which are Water, Fire, Air and Earth. The Triangle upwards represents fire which stands for my zodiac sign (Leo). The fifth elemental is spirit.
Flowers (top part):
The national flowers of Indonesia (where my mom comes from). They are called Melati Putih. It also stands for ”Always growing upwards”.
The reason I got this tattoo in the first place is because it took me so long to finally be the person I need to be. I waited for the perfect Idea and this is it. Every idea came from me. It represents me as a person. I grow like the flower, I’m fire like a leo, I’m free therefore I fly, I love to travel but will never forget where I came from.
